Product Introduction:
The ZZJ-800 series auxiliary drive motors for rolling mills are one of our company's main products. These motors are manufactured in accordance with the IEC-34-13 "Motors for Auxiliary Drives of Rolling Mills" standard set by the International Electrotechnical Commission. They are crucial power equipment in the steel industry, capable of withstanding harsh working conditions. They can endure frequent starts, stops, reversals, and repeated high overload torques. These motors are primarily used in equipment such as work roll tables, pressing devices, looper tension rolls, shears, and crane hoists. They serve as updated replacements for the ZZ/ZZK, ZZY, ZZJO, and ZZJ2 series motors.
This series of motors features a cylindrical structure with good heat dissipation, suitable for rectifier power supply. They can withstand pulsed currents and abrupt changes in current (load variations) while maintaining good commutation.
These motors maintain the installation dimensions of the 600 series, but with one power level higher than the 600 series, reaching the international advanced level.
The motors have F-class insulation, employing a reliable insulation structure and impregnation process to ensure stable insulation performance and good heat dissipation. The motors are suitable for power supply from DC generator sets as well as static rectifier power supplies. When the rectifier power supply is connected in a three-phase full-controlled bridge circuit, no filter reactor is required for long-term stable operation.
Motor Performance:
3.1 The data in the technical parameter table should work under the following conditions:
a. Altitude not exceeding 1000 meters.
b. Ambient air temperature between -30℃ and +40℃.
c. The working environment should not contain acidic, alkaline, or other gases that corrode insulation.
d. The motor duty cycles include:
Ventilated continuous duty (S1),
Fully enclosed short-time duty (S2),
Fully enclosed intermittent periodic duty (S3) with a duty cycle (FC) of 30%.
e. The motor armature circuit and excitation circuit can be powered by a static rectifier power supply or a DC generator.
f. The performance of this series of motors complies with the requirements of the GB5227-85 standard "Auxiliary Drive DC Motors for Rolling Mills".
3.2 The standard rated voltages of the motor are 220V and 440V. Other voltage levels can be negotiated with our company.
3.3 The rated speed of the motor should conform to the provisions in the technical data table according to the characteristics of the motor. Motors with a rated voltage of 220V should be capable of voltage regulation for speed control.
3.4 When the motor is powered by a DC power source with no significant pulsation (i.e., using a rotary generator as the power source), operates at rated output power and the specified duty cycle, and the ambient air temperature does not exceed 40℃, the temperature rise of various windings measured by the thermometer method should not exceed 75K or 110K when measured by the resistance method. The temperature rise of the commutator measured by the thermometer method should not exceed 85℃.
3.5 For compound-wound DC motors with ventilated continuous duty (S1) or fully enclosed short-time duty (S2) with a 1-hour time limit, the excitation ampere-turn ratio is approximately 50% shunt and 50% series excitation.
3.6 For DC motors with ventilated continuous duty (S1) or fully enclosed short-time duty (S2) with a 1-hour time limit, the maximum speed regulation rate should not exceed the following regulations.

b. Installation Method:Complies with the national standard GB997-81, classified as IMB3. Other installation methods can be negotiated with our company.
4.2 Cooling Methods:
Fully Enclosed Motors:
IC0040: Natural cooling on the surface of the enclosure.
IC0041: Air cooling driven by an internal fan connected to the motor itself.
Ventilated Motors:
IC17: Air intake through a duct, natural air exhaust.
IC37: Air intake and exhaust through ducts.
IC16: Equipped with an independent blower.
The required cooling air volume for each frame number is as follows (see table):
Frame | Air flow rate for ventilated continuous duty motors (m³/s) |
802A | 0.052 |
802B | 0.052 |
802C | 0.076 |
803 | 0.094 |
804 | 0.12 |
806 | 0.16 |
808 | 0.20 |
810 | 0.25 |
812 | 0.35 |
814 | 0.42 |
816 | 0.57 |
818 | 0.75 |
4.3 The position of the terminal box, viewed from the main drive end, is on the right side of the frame. If the left side or the top is required, it can be negotiated with our company.
4.4 The motor can be equipped with a tachogenerator and accessories on the auxiliary drive end.
4.5 The motor has a double taper shaft extension, with a standard taper of 1:10. If a shaft taper of 1:9 or a change in the overall length of the motor is required, it can be negotiated with our company.
4.6 The motor's drive is connected via an elastic coupling, and care must be taken to align the unit properly.
